Hi. I can finally let you all in on the world’s worst kept secret. I know you’re all thrilled.

Long story short, Kevin and I are moving to Austin, Texas. In the middle of August. This August. Like, in three-ish weeks.

Kevin was accepted to a PhD program in history at the University of Texas, where he’ll receive full funding and a fellowship because he’s a smartypants. He actually applied to a number of places, and Austin and one other city were the only two I agreed to move to (because I’m a brat). You cannot imagine how excited I was to find out he had been accepted to UT. 

I also recently accepted a position at Drumroll, a small but badass marketing agency in ATX. I’m really sad to be leaving Barkley but this is a really great opportunity and I couldn’t be more excited about it. My last day at Barkley will be this Friday, and I’ll fly down to Austin next week to begin working for Drumroll.

Kansas City will always be my home, and I’m sad to be leaving the city and all of my friends here (seriously, I cried when I canceled my gym membership if that tells you anything). But Austin seems like the perfect city for both of us (except I’m going to really miss coat and boots weather) and I have ALWAYS wanted to live there, so it’s just the perfect scenario. 

Yes, the dogs and kitty will join us.

Yes, our wedding will still be in Lawrence.

Yes, I know that it’s hot in Austin. But you know what? They have awesome tacos. 

Thanks to my friends and family for their support, otherwise my brain would have exploded weeks ago. I had a bunch of people looking out for me and making professional connections for me, and I am so incredibly grateful for that. People are just awesome, you guys. 

I’ll miss you, Kansas City!
